1. Clean off all the old caulk with a putty knife.
2. Wash the surface with alcohol, bleach, and hot water.
3. Protect the surrounding surface with painter's tape.
4. Press the caulk gun’s release trigger to pull the rod back.
5. Cut the nozzle on a tube of caulk to a 45-degree angle.
6. Pierce the nozzle with the gun’s piercing rod or a nail.
7. Insert the tube of caulk into the gun.
8. Hold the caulking gun at 45 degrees to the crack.
9. Press the trigger to push the caulk into the nozzle.
10. Move the caulking gun across the length of the crack.
11. Smooth the caulk line with your finger.
12. Remove any painter's tape and let the caulk dry.
